We now come to a parenthetic interval as God tells us how He is going to evangelize the world now that the church is in Heaven and there is no physical witness on earth. The lull before the storm is declared by the four angels holding back the four winds of the earth. An important event is about to take place in the silence on the earth. Matthew 24:14 tells us that the Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness and then the end comes. Here, apparently, are the 144,000 "Apostle Pauls" that God is going to use to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom. We need to notice carefully two things in relation to this group: 1. They are 144,000 literal Jews and the tribes are named. There are those who would have us believe that anyone could be part of this elite group, but God clearly identifies who they are. 2. They are sealed on their forehead. This is a seal of protection as we are sealed by the Holy Spirit today, and it is the implantation of the Gospel of the Kingdom that they are to preach. It is not the Gospel of the Church Age as the church is now in heaven. It is the declaration of the coming tribulation, and the need to be saved during this time before the return of Christ to set up His Millennial Kingdom.
