Revelation 20, 21, & 22
The third angel sounds his trumpet and another heavenly body comes plummeting into the earth's atmosphere. This time John sees it as a great star that burns like a lamp. This huge burning meteor apparently explodes as it enters the earth's atmosphere and its debris falls on one third of the earth's fresh water supply. The star is named Wormwood and it pollutes the water with a bitter taste that causes death to those that drink it. It would seem plausible that the wormwood would also affect the fresh water marine life. Wormwood is a Eurasian perennial plant that yields a bitter tasting dark green oil and is used in making absinthe. Absinthe is a green bitter liqueur with the flavor of wormwood and anise. It is a popular liqueur in some countries. This wormwood will not be a party drink!
