We now find ourselves in the middle of God's time frame of Daniel's 70th week, which is the seven year Tribulation period. Note the mention of the time. In Revelation 11:3, one thousand two hundred sixty days is three and one half years. Revelation 12:6 gives the same time. Revelation 12:14 declares, a time, times and one half a time, again three and a half years. Revelation 13:5 gives us 42 months, again three and a half years. The description of the mighty angel in Verses 1 to 3 leads us to believe that this is the Lord Jesus Christ. No other angel has ever been described like this. His voice in verse 3 is the voice of the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah." In a solemn declaration, the Lord stands with one foot on the sea and another on the earth, and a voice from heaven tells John to take the scroll from His hand and eat it. After John consumes the little scroll, he is directed to prophesy or proclaim before the world. What is the little scroll or little book? It is the Word of God! We are told in Psalm 119:103 that it is honey, in Matthew 4:4 that it is bread, and in Hebrews 5:12 it is milk and meat. John is told that the work is not completed. We need to partake of the Word of God, digest it and share it with a world that is dying of spiritual starvation!
